First Sunday in Advent 2015
Sunday, November 28:
The *official* first Sunday of Advent begins the Christian Church's new calendar year.  Happy New Year!  This year we move to Year C, using the Gospel of Luke for most Sundays.  The traditional color of Advent is purple; however, the more contemporary color is blue as a tribute to the role of the Blessed Mother, Mary.  Join us in the Sundays of Advent as we wait in expectancy for the Christ-child once again. Sunday, November 28:
Sunday, November 28 is the first day of the new Church Year.  What a great time to welcome new households into our Church Family.  During the 10am service we will ask new parishioners to share what brought them to Holy Spirit Verona and we will renew our Baptismal vows together with our newest family members. Monday, November 29:
The Vestry typically meets on the second Monday of the month, and has been doing so via Zoom duing the pandemic.  This month we will gather online a little later in the month -- Monday, November 29 at 7:30pm via Zoom to pray together, discuss the business of the church and enjoy each others' company.  An email will be sent with logon information.  This meeting will be our final of 2021. Fair in the Square 2015
Saturday, December 4:
We will join in Verona's annual Fair in the Square event from 12-5pm on Saturday, December 4.  For sale will be "Soup For The Soul."  In addition, we’ll have a table in the Square with information about our open, welcoming and inclusive community!  Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall to help for an hour or two. Sunday, December 5:
On Sunday, December 5 after Worship, join us as we decorate the Church for Christmas.  Help us green the windows and other parts of the church as we prepare for the Pageant & Christmas Eve services. No potluck this year; we look forward to its return next year.  Sunday School students will rehearse for the Christmas Pageant at 11:30am on this day. Read more
COHS Labyrinth 2016
Monday, December 6:
Our Sacred Ground Dialogue Circle will gather via Zoom on Monday, December 6 from 7-9pm.  Sacred Ground is a film- and readings-based 10-part series on race, grounded in faith, that walks participants through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity.  If you have any questions, please email Deacon Katherine or Father Jerry. A small group of socially distanced, mask wearing Food Pantry volunteers will be in the lower level from 5-6:30pm setting up the assembly line needed to pre-pack bags for shoppers. Read more

Saturday, December 11:
A small group of socially distanced, mask wearing Food Pantry volunteers will be in the lower level for three shifts (8:30-9:30am, 9:45-10:45am and 11am-12pm) prepackings bags for our shoppers -- they will then carry them up to the sanctuary.  It's hard physical work! Read more
