Our long time dream has become a reality. Led by the Outreach Committee, our congregation has always participated in activities to help those in need, but longed for a way to help those in our community directly.
In May 2015, our parishioner, Cardie Mortimer, generously donated the funds to renovate our kitchen in honor of his parents, Charles and Elisabeth Mortimer. The kitchen was dedicated in October and now includes a food pantry to store goods for those in need.
At the May 28 Food Pantry, we will accept shoppers in the lower level from 9 to 11am; masks will be required. This will be our second "in-person" shopping day since February 2020. Shoppers will be asked to remain in their vehicles and a limited number of shoppers will be invited inside at a time. Home deliveries will still be available for Verona/Cedar Grove residents who are unable to visit the Pantry; contact our Church Office to make arrangements.

These two fliers can be printed on purple paper and taped to your Lent Box as a reminder to collect 40 items over the 40 days of Lent for the Holy Spirit Verona Food Pantry. Thanks for participating!

Do something special this Lent: help fight hunger one day at a time! Place one non-perishable food or toiletry item into a box each day during Lent (40 days = 40 items). Return the box and its contents to Holy Spirit Verona by Palm Sunday, April 10. If you would like to pick up a box, email us to make arrangements, or download two flyers to make your own box.
Our Pantry will continue local home deliveries for March 2022 and accept shoppers on Saturday, March 26 from 9-11am, our usual 4th Saturday distribution day. Shoppers must maintain physical distancing and remain within their cars. Volunteers will be required to wear masks and will bring pre-packaged bags to shoppers' cars.
