Lent Madness 2020

lent madness

What is it?  Lent Madness began in 2010 as the brainchild of the Rev. Tim Schenck (Rector at St. John the Evangelist in Hingham, MA). In seeking a fun, engaging way for people to learn about the men and women comprising the Church’s Calendar of Saints, Tim came up with this unique Lenten devotion.

Feast of the Presentation

Sunday, February 2
The Presentation - Redeemer Morristown

We (and most of The Episcopal Church) will celebrate The Feast of The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple on Sunday, February 2 because that is the actual feast day of this milestone in Jesus' life.  The roles of the prophets Simeon (think Nunc dimittis in Evening Prayer) and Anna are emphasized on this day.  A female prophet?  YES!  Her name is Anna, and she was an 84-year old widow when Jesus was brought to the temple as an infant.  #wisewoman  #candlemas  #nuncdimittis
