The clergy leaders of six of Verona's houses of worship revived a long-standing tradition in town on Sunday, November 22 at 3pm by hosting an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service. The interdenominational event was held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church and featured choristers from OLL, First Presbyterian Church of Verona and the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit.
Fr. Joseph D'Amico, OLL Pastor, presided over the service, with other pastoral leaders taking part. Rev. Dr. Julia Dawson, First Presbyterian, and the Rev. Jerry Racioppi, Holy Spirit Episcopal, gave reflections, while Rabbi Mark Biller, Congregation Beth Ahm, prayed the Psalm and gave the final blessing in Hebrew. In attendance were 9 pastoral leaders, 25 choir members and over 125 worshipers. Mayor Ryan also spoke during the service and food was collected for the Montclair Human Needs Food Pantry.
Participating in the service were: Congregation Beth Ahm, First Congregational Church of Verona, Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, Verona United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church of Verona and Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
