Easter Egg Hunt

After our Easter Sunday (April 21) Worship, we'll gather outside to watch the children gather up the Easter eggs that have been placed around for their discovery and enjoyment (eggs are filled with candy).

EASTER SUNDAY

Jesus Christ is risen!  Alleluia!  On this festival day, we will have one Worship Service at 10am; there will be no 8am Worship Service on Easter Sunday.

The Alleluia Banner is also dug up (which was buried on Ash Wednesday) at 9:45am; kids should arrive early.  After Worship we host a deliciously scrumptious Fellowship Hour and an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.

Over-Night Watch

After the Maundy Thursday Worship, we keep vigil in our historic Chapel with an all night watch.  The reserve sacrament is present and visitors may knock on the red parking lot door if they would like to come and pray.

Easter Vigil

Join us for our Vigil Celebration of Easter on the eve before (Saturday, April 20) at 7:30pm when we light the new fire and experience the move from darkness into light.  The service begins in the center of our outdoor labyrinth, and then all process into the darkened church where each attendee lights a candle from the new flame.

Good Friday Service

Our main Good Friday Worship is (April 19) at 7:30pm.  We use the traditional Good Friday liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer with the praying of the solemn collects along with some contemporary articles on the brokenness of the modern world.  In addition, attendees will be encouraged to contemplate their own crosses in life, and pray on how to give them over to God.

Private Prayer & Reflection

On Good Friday (April 19) our main Church will be available for private prayer and reflection.

"Whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6

Good Friday Children's Stations of the Cross

On Good Friday (April 19) at 10am we offer a Stations of the Cross service for children where the kids carry a large cross in and around the church.  The service is very tactile in that kids try on a crown of thorns, touch nails that might have been used in crucifixion, and taste vinegar all of which are reminders of how Jesus suffered before his death.

Welcome to Church of the Holy Spirit!

map

The red door on an Episcopal (Anglican) Church is traditionally a sign of welcome. Come through the door, and you'll discover that we are a multi-generational, family-centered church. Our congregation worships together, supports each other in times of trouble, celebrates together, and does God’s work in the world.  We are open, welcoming, and inclusive. We invite you to join us.

Finding Holy Spirit

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street, Verona, and is one block north of Bloomfield Avenue. It is directly across the street from the H.B. Whitehorne Middle School track.

Park in the parking lot and come in the red door. Before each service, you are likely to find our rector standing on the sidewalk or front steps to greet you.
