Mental Health First Aid Workshop

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) New Jersey Chapter is providing this workshop through funds raised by the Verona Park/West Essex Out of Darkness Walk.  You may know CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver; you can call 911.  But can you administer first aid in a mental health crisis?  Learn how on Saturday, June 8 from 8:30am to 5:30pm[click here or on logo for complete details.]

Mental Health First Aid teaches: 

  • Risk factors & warning signs of mental health concerns.
  • Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and substance use.
  • A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health concern or in crisis.
  • Available evidence-based professional, peer, and self-help resources.
