The Outreach Committee continues the tradition of the Angel Tree in the Fellowship Hall. This year we are collecting donations for St. Peter's Haven in Clifton. Needed items include new toys ages 8 to 13. Please DO NOT wrap the gifts or use gift bags. The volunteers at St. Peter's Haven will wrap and label them accordingly. Toys are due by Sunday, December 12. Any questions, speak with Catherine Tamasik or Mary Garland. For more information on St. Peter's Haven, click here or see below.

Hello Everyone. As you know, each year the Outreach Committee of Holy Spirit displays the Angel Tree in the Fellowship Hall and decorates it with gift tags that indicate various items the Committee is collecting for a worthy cause. In the past, the Angel Tree gifts have been donated to Heifer International, the Diocese of Newark Prison Ministry, and Mark's Closet based in Bloomfield.
This year, the Outreach Committee invites you to donate toys to St. Peter's Haven in Clifton. Some of you will recall that prior to our opening our own Food Pantry, we held a Thanksgiving food collection -- turkeys included -- for St. Peter's, which serves about 500 families in the Clifton area.
Unfortunately, St. Peter's Haven withstood significant flooding damage from Hurricane Ida in September, and they are struggling to rebuild. Nonetheless, they advise that they have ample donations for Thanksgiving, so they are focusing now on having sufficient Christmas gifts to distribute to their children.
St. Peter's Haven will accept toys, games, sporting equipment, etc. for any age, but they would like us to concentrate on the 8 to 13 age group, boys and girls. St. Peter's asks that our gifts be unwrapped: no gift bags or wrapping. Their own crew will be sorting and wrapping gifts the weekend before they are distributed.
You'll find our Angel Tree in the Fellowship Hall the First Sunday of Advent (November 28). But feel free to bring gifts in any time. Gifts will be delivered to St. Peter's the week of December 13, so the last date for collection is Sunday, December 12. If you need to access the Fellowship Hall to drop off gifts at a time when neither Jerry nor I is in the building, please email or text me and I'll give you the door code.
Many thanks for your anticipated generosity!
