Diocesan Convention 2019

On Friday, February 1 & Saturday, February 2 all of the churches in the Diocese of Newark will send deputies to the Hilton Meadowlands (new location this year!) to listen to report-outs, vote on the 2019 budget and share in fellowship.  Attending from Holy Spirit are (both days): Rosemary Gabbe and Father Jerry; Friday only: Catherine TamasikKen Traficante; Saturday only: Jane EliasofYolanda Silverio.  Elected in 2018, but unable to attend are Mary Garland and Karen Pensiero. Every Sunday at 8am we offer a Quiet Eucharist in our historic All Saints Chapel. Advent is a great time to consider joining this service as WE WAIT IN HOPE. It's a contemplative service with silence, Taize chants and time to breathe. Read more
Soup for the Soul

"Soup For The Soul" Sold at Fair in The Square 2018

Holy Spirit Verona will once again sell "Soup for the Soul" at Verona's Fair in the Square on Saturday, December 1.  If you can make quarts of soup before then, please do so.  You can pick up containers in the Fellowship Hall.  Write down a list of the ingredients so that our office can make up labels.  The soup can be stored in our lower level freezer until the December 1 event.  Proceeds will go to our Operation Budget. Coffee Hour Goes A Little More Green

In an effort to be a little more "green," as of Sunday, November 4, our Sunday morning Coffee Hour will no longer use paper or styrofoam cups for Coffee or plastic forks, knives or spoons.  Hosts of the Fellowship Hour will put out mugs and silverware.  We ask that you place your dirty mug or utensil(s) in the sink (or bin provided).  Doing our part to protect the environment!  Be the change you wish to see in the world. Dress to Impress

Donate Your Old Formal Dresses

Two youth who attended our 2018 Mission Trip are collecting your old formal and prom dresses and accessories (shoes and purses) to be donated to girls in towns in and around St. Paul, Virginia.  The deadline for donations is November 20, 2018.  Dresses should be placed in dry cleaning bags and clearly marked with the size.  For more info, email vhsdresstoimpress@gmail.com. Kings Donates To Our Food Pantry

We are thankful to the Kings Verona management team who, earlier this year, began giving a portion of the donations purchased by Kings shoppers to our Food Pantry.  Recently, we were informed that ALL donations purchased at Kings in Verona will be donated to the Holy Spirit Verona Food Pantry.  We are most grateful to Kings’ leadership, and all those who shop at Kings Verona and purchase a pre-packaged bag of food and other essential items.
