Pastoral Letter From Bishop Hughes

The Right Rev. Carlye J. Hughes, our Diocesan Bishop, has written a pastoral letter entitled "How Shall We Keep A Holy Lent?"  We have included it in the Thursday, February 25 Happenings, or you may read it on the Diocesan website.  She encourages us to recognize the grief we have carried in this year of pandemic and connect with our authentic self, rather than emphasis our aspirational self.  She concludes with "You have my prayers for a holy and authentic Lent." Lent Madness 2021

What is it?  Lent Madness began in 2010 as the brainchild of the Rev. Tim Schenck (Rector at St. John the Evangelist in Hingham, MA). In seeking a fun, engaging way for people to learn about the men and women comprising the Church’s Calendar of Saints, Tim came up with this unique Lenten devotion.  How do I vote?  go to:  Click on image or here for more details. Home Worship - Agape Meal

Bishop Hughes reminded folks at the December Lay Conversation zoom meeting of the opportunity to gather in worship in our homes, whether we have others in our household or not. Worshipping in households is one of the earliest forms of Christian worship and has been especially important this past year when we have not been able to gather in our congregations in person.  Click here for futher informaion.
